Carrollton-Farmers Branch - method of Board member selection

School Board Members will be elected using a cumulative voting system. In a cumulative voting system, voters can cast as many votes as there are seats up for election, including multiple votes for the same candidate. For example, if four candidates were running for three seats, then each voter would have three votes to cast. The voter could cast all three votes for one candidate, cast two votes for one candidate and the third vote for another candidate, or cast all three votes for three different candidates. The cumulative voting system is very flexible. You can use your votes in any combination of three or fewer candidates. The three candidates with the most votes win the election.
